Pedestrian Safety
At some point in the day, we all become pedestrians. Being able to safely get from one location to another is important. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an estimated 6,416 pedestrians were killed and an estimated 55,000 injured nationwide in 2020 alone.
Simple tips for pedestrian safety:
· Walk along available sidewalks
· Cross streets at crosswalks
· Look for cars in all directions before crossing the street
· Be vigilant of cars entering or exiting driveways and parking lots
· Keep streets clean by using garbage cans and recycling
· Warn fellow walkers if you become aware of a threat to safety
· Walk with a buddy when you can
